Afghan Refugee Resettlement Project

St. Ignatius Catholic Community’s Justice & Peace Committee is partnering with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and several other Catholic parishes in Baltimore City to assist with resettling Afghan refugees. We have been asked to furnish an apartment and are seeking donations of household goods and other basic necessities.

A full list of desired donations is at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QkLkYaSf7s-9-O_WuYXW-YO2VPgYTp7rc3YOkn1rSuw/edit?usp=sharing

If you are interested in making an item donation, please fill out the form below so we can coordinate items accordingly. A volunteer from the Justice & Peace Committee will contact you for next steps.

We are accepting ongoing donations. If you have any questions, please contact immigration@st-ignatius.net.

If you prefer to make a cash donation so that volunteers can purchase new items for an apartment for a new American family, you can do that it one of two ways:

1. Via the Poor Box – Write a check made out to St. Ignatius Catholic Church and write “Afghan Refugee Resettlement Project” on the memo line. To contribute, the Poor Box is located in the narthex of the church at the bottom of the choir loft stairs.

2. Via Check – Mail a check to St. Ignatius (same directions as above) to 740 N. Calvert St., Baltimore, MD 21202

3. Via Venmo – Our account is listed as Saint Ignatius Baltimore. If you don’t have a Venmo account you can learn how to install one on your mobile phone by clicking here: https://st-ignatius.net/venmo/

Thank you so much for your generosity! Once you submit the form, a volunteer from the Justice & Peace Committee will contact you for next steps.
