The Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

The Rule of Law and Humility. It’s a shame whenever people break the law and gloat about it. Since moving to Baltimore, on a number of occasions I have nearly lost my life to reckless drivers who decided it’s within their right to drive over 100 miles an hour on an interstate highway, and to weave within inches of cars. I wish highway patrol would catch them. They may. But it seems they catch only those going 60 in a 55. And yet, the highway patrol is entrusted to do just that: stop those who break the law. We should show no sympathy to those who break laws. This is what makes us American.
