Volunteer

Our PREP program is run by volunteer parents and parishioners. We can only have a solid program with your help. All families must volunteer for at least one event. Please look over the options and type your preference(s) in the field below. *

PREP Teacher: Teach a class independently or pair up with another parent or parishioner to teach 50-minute Sunday PREP classes September-May. Materials and a yearly calendar are available in advance. 2 hour safety training required. Class sizes run 4-15 children per class.
Young Children’s Liturgy of the Word: Rotate with 4 other families taking 1 Sunday each month to teach the Gospel to our youngest children ages approximately 4-8. Liturgy is held for 20 minutes during the 10:00 AM Mass. Materials provided if desired. 5th Sunday is less frequent.
Christmas Pageant: Assist in planning, attending, or assigning tasks for the pageant held at the 4:00 Mass Christmas Eve. Children rehearse during PREP
Christmas Pageant Costumes or Props: 1-2 parents are needed to organize, inventory and occasionally replace Pageant attire or props.
Confirmation Retreat: Assist the Confirmation teacher and attending a retreat for children ages 13-14. A sample retreat schedule will be provided.
Service Sundays: Team up with another parent to lead service-related activities. We hold 2-3 Faith in Actions—in October (All Saints), January (Martin Luther King) or February (Valentine). A Christmas PJ drive for Loyola Early Learning Center is also held. Children wrap gifts after PREP.
Photographer: 1 parent is needed to photograph our PREP events and activities.
