Freedom Ride to Support Voting Rights – Saturday June 26th

Do you support making every voter count the same regardless of color, income, age, or neighborhood? Join us in supporting the For the People Act and show your support this weekend!

Get Money Out – Maryland (GMOM) founded For the People – Maryland with 20 other groups to fight for these principles in the U.S. Congress. Don’t sit on the sideline now. In the next two months, We the People have the capacity to enact legislation more sweeping than the Voting Rights Act of 1965. We will win if we all pitch in. Here are the action steps you can take now.

Join us in DC on June 26. If you live in the Baltimore area, you can make a reservation for the Towson Indivisible bus to Washington, which leaves from Lutherville light rail station at 11:30 am.

Or, you can sign up to call voters in West Virginia and try to convince one friend to do so also. For each session there have been about 50 volunteers making calls, and we get at least 100 patch-through calls to Sen. Manchin’s office.

We feel called by the Gospel and guided by Catholic Social Teaching to welcome the stranger by seeing in the immigrant the face of Christ. America is a country built by immigrants, most of us need to look back only one or two generations to discover our own immigrant ancestors.
