This coming week’s Gospel antiphon is “I know my sheep, and mine know me.” Jesus’ voice calls us to follow him as a shepherd not only because of his voice but because of his dedication and willingness to die for us. Some sheep are near to the shepherd. Others roam off far from the flock. But they know when to return whenever they hear that voice. It’s the voice of Jesus who calls us back and teaches us that he can be a leader for us because he’s willing to lay down his life for us.
