Women Who Stay Meeting
Tuesday, March 16 at 7–8 PM via Zoom
For the March 16, 2021, meeting, Women Who Stay will continue studying Enfleshing Freedom: Body, Race, and Being by M. Shawn Copeland, an award-winning African American feminist theologian. It is available from the publisher, Fortress Press, and Amazon. We are proceeding with the 1st edition because the date for publication of the 2nd edition is uncertain. We will discuss Chapter 3, but don’t hesitate to join us if you haven’t yet obtained the book or finished the reading.
We’ll also discuss our collaboration with Root & Branch (www.rootandbranchsynod.org) in its work to reform the Catholic Church. We encourage everyone who shares their goal, or seeks to understand their goal, of equality and shared governance and ministry in the church, to visit the Root & Branch website. Talks by previous speakers have been recorded and are available on the site under the tab “Past Guests.” Begin with the powerful talk by James Carroll.
To observe International Women’s Day March 8, The Tablet, a Catholic international weekly review published in London, is hosting a webinar, “Do women have a future in the Catholic Church?” from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.Root & Branch will be there. Visit their website to register for the webinar. The cost is £12.50/approximately $18.
If you are not already on the e-mailing list for Women Who Stay and wish to receive a Zoom invitation to the March meeting, please contact Dusty Lidinsky (firstname.lastname@example.org).
