December 2020 – Pastoral Council Minutes

7:00 PM — December 7, 2020 

Virtual Meeting via Zoom

Present: Father Casciotti, Ted Engelke, Ryan Bixler, Vonetta Edwards, Len Heckwolf, Barbara Lazatti, Barb Ipsaro, Kate Walsh, and Andrew Lacovara.

I. Opening Prayer

Father Casciotti opened with prayer.

II. Acceptance of the Minutes from November 2020 Meeting  

The November meeting minutes were accepted.      

III. Pastors Report 

  • Still working on the Annex and making good progress.
  • Father Watters hired a lawyer for logistics of the building. 
  • Father Casciotti is okay with doing two masses at Christmas.
  • The budget is on track right now; we are doing okay.
  • There is going to be more administration regarding the music played for the live stream masses. 

IV. Old Business 

  1. Pastoral Council new members

– Two new members have been confirmed and announced.

– There is a student that Father Casciotti would like to sit in and observe the Pastoral Council.

  1. K4 Update

– The hope is to go to K through 4 eventually. 

– To redo the five buildings the hope is to be open in September 2022. 

V. New Business

  1. Homelessness and Loaves and Fishes (Len)

– Two Saturday efforts and two Sunday efforts.

– It’s been a challenge to get people to ride in the van. 

– Hygiene kits and socks, etc. are still welcome for collecting. 

– There is a freezer that we’ll have put in the first week of January.

VI. Grab Bag

–  Idea of having a 24/7 video of just the alter to be able to provide a space anytime if they need it. The idea will be brought up to John. 

– Andrew mentioned that they will need volunteers to help with pre-cana.
