St. Ignatius Pastoral Council Meeting

Present: Father Casciotti, Len Heckwolf, Joe Hillery, Andrew Lacovara, Ted Engelke, Ryan Bixler, Toni Mooore-Duggan, Kate Walsh, and Kevin Burdinski.

  1. Pastor’s Report – Father Jim
  2. Finance Council was today, 4/19, and we are doing well given all things considered with COVID.
  3. Father Watters is about a week away from moving out of our current office building.
  4. The other tenants have been given help to support them when they transition out. All current tenants will be moved out by June 30th.
  5. $2.5M of written current pledges have been made.
  6. Confirmation went well on Sunday and First Communion is coming up.
  7. The next survey will be out soon.
  8. Still hoping to have a second mass in the first week of July.
  9. Stewardship Fair – No immediate update but is still on Father Casciotti’s list to pick up. The fair should help with tapping people to participate in different groups within the Parish.                                                                              
  10. Deacon’s Report – Deacon Andrew
  11. There are 19 couples that Andrew is working with for the sacrament of marriage.
  12. There are about 7-8 baptisms scheduled right now.
  13. Andrew is going to be the temporary administrator at Corpus Christi. He is still working through what his responsibilities will look like.
  • Justice and Peace Update – Joe
  • There was a meeting last Thursday. There is a new editorial coordinator.   
  • There were a lot of virtual lobbying efforts done with federal and state representatives.
  • Candra did an excellent job managing and organizing all the efforts.
  • An anti-racism task force is underway. There is an event on 4/24 to discuss the journey for racial solidarity.
  • What St. Ignatius is doing is being noted and we are now being asked to help other parishes.
  • There was a great BLM rally on Saturday where about 150 people attended.
  • Changes to Loaves and Fishes Calendar – Len
  • Starting the week of June 1, week one will begin.
  • Last Sunday about 150 meals plus casseroles were given out.
